It’s Sparrow, an average man passing an average life…
Thursday, May 2
Good gravy, another morning when we simply did not want to get out of bed…Today, we did not bother to rise and shine until 0400, a full two hours after we first woke…It was so late – and we were so unenthused about the prospect – that we didn’t even bother going to the gym…Regular readers of this crap know we seldom don’t go to workout, but recall we worked out Monday, so we got our five workouts in this week.
So today continued the trend of waking up later than usual…We have some zero clue why, but that new supplement we’ve been taking could be to blame…It’s called AM Kick and we stumbled upon it online by accident and Chuck Norris is such a good salesman that we bought some…The ad didn’t really make a big deal out of increasing your energy, but we’ve stayed up three hours later on Wednesday and Thursday and, because we will whine about absolutely anything we are whining about this because going to bed three hours earlier means getting up three hours later.
This makes three supplement powders we’re taking now, a figure that doesn’t include our pre-workout crap…One is beet-based, and the other is greens-based, and now this…Neither is cheap on their own and we still have our capsule supplements, so we investigated he labels on the powders…We’re not nutritionists, Lord knows, but thanks to The Ex we know our way around a nutrition label and while there was some modest duplication, we couldn’t find enuff to warrant cutting any one of them out, so we’ll keep them because it’s not as if we’re going to OD on any of it and anything our body really doesn’t need to will dispose of naturally.
$55 and change at the retailer in the next county today, not too bad…The cat needed food, but rather than get the big box of her usual, which we strongly suspect she is getting tired of, we got some individual cans of stuff she doesn’t usually get and maybe she’ll appreciate the variety…We also got her some of those lickable treats she likes, and there was no sign of In-Play Zara today…Lunch was at a chain sandwich shop, tho the new ride, out of habit, tried to pull into our fave Mexican joint.
The lawn still needs to be mowed…”Wet grounds” continues to be the preferred excuse and compounding matters was it never got above 40° and it was windy besides.
Our small town is looking for a town clerk…The deadline to email City Manager Matt with your email of interest (EOI) and your resume was today and we came really close to putting in for it…But then we remembered several things: one, we’re running for Congress and it didn’t seem right for a town clerk to run for Congress, especially when you’re a whackjob third-party candidate…Plus, we don’t really like government work…Plus, it’s Monday thru Friday and not graveyard, and we like working graveyard…Also, we know squat (or don’t know squat, we’re still not sure) about being a town clerk…This really wasn’t a consideration tho because we knew nothing about being a veterans service officer (VSO) and we turned into a fairly serviceable one…So we didn’t send Matt anything.

The Diary of a Nobody is a novel. All elements are either products of the author’s imagination or are used fictitiously. Anything else is a coincidence.
The Diary of a Nobody was inspired by the 19th-century British novel of the same name.
