The Diary of a Nobody – Sparrow has exciting news about the cash sheet for the safe at the hotel. Today’s Diary.
For the first time all week, I had to make a new cash sheet for the safe…Well, I always make a new one my first night in for the week, just for funsies, but other than that the cash sheet for the safe remained unchanged for the first four nites, a PB I think, tho specific records haven’t been kept…We’re not sure why – you’d think it’s something we’d be all over here – but there is literally no record of how many consecutive nights the cash sheet for the safe remained unchanged.
The Regular Guys/Chapter 19 – Lenny and Larry open as resident headliners at Caesars Palace.
The Regular Guys’ first show as resident headliners at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace had been a complete success, as had the opening night party Lenny and Larry had hosted afterward in their suite. Early the next afternoon Larry exited his bedroom on the second floor of The Regular Guys suite, walked down the stairs and into the suite’s living room.
He found Lenny standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, staring down at The Strip. He was wearing a smoking jacket, had a drink in one hand, a cigar in the other, and he was wearing sunglasses.

The long march to today.
In 1969 – Project Blue Book, the US Air Force’s program that studied UFO reports, has its last official day, though some sources say it carried on its work into January. Formed in 1952, the project handled over 12,000 UFO reports and of the 701 cases that remained unidentified, the Air Force said none were extra-terrestrial or ever posed a threat to humans. Among the reasons cited for UFO calls were certain people who called were crackers and the misidentification of conventional objects.
In 1933 – The Chicago Bears defeat the New York Giants 23-21 in the first regularly scheduled NFL championship game. The Bears had won the first-ever Western Division title while the Giants had won the Eastern Division title and the game was played at Wrigley Field because the Bears had the best regular-season record. The previous year the Bears had defeated the Portsmouth Spartans in a championship game played to break a first-place tie.
In 1988 – Chicago is at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the second and final consecutive week with Look Away. It was the 32nd of 35 Top 40 hits for the group, their 18th of 20 Top 10 hits and their third and final #1 song. Look Away also went to #1 in Canada, peaked at #77 in Great Britain and due to when it charted, was Billboard’s #1 song of 1989, despite having never hit #1 in that year.
