LIVE FROM THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF AMERIKA: The dictatorship of President Donald Trump – no one, except for some malcontent judges, is saying no to him, not Congress, not the media, and not us – continues. He is doing what he wants when he wants, regardless of its merit or legality.

Fly In The Ointment: We are being governed off the top of his head. And that’s bad because Trump believes, among other things, that the moon is part of Mars and that the securing of British airports won the Revolution. Plus his current-term blather that Canada should be the 51st state and we should take the canal back from Panama.

Let’s Get Out Our Constitutions, Shall We?: Article II, Section 3 of the Constitution, US, 1 each, is very clear on the matter, stating that a president shall:

…take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed.

Dry, Technical Matter: President Trump has violated this duty since day one. Instead of executing the laws passed by Congress, he is trampling over them. He is ignoring the courts. He is faithfully ignoring our laws, and you do not have to be a Founding Father to know these are impeachable offenses.

Dr Kevorkian, 2026 Midterms On Line 2: But what were we expecting? Trump is a man whose calling card is ignorance and bluster. He is a man of no intellectual substance. His ignorance and ego are both so  some might be starting to wonder if he’ll attempt to cancel the 2026 midterms.

The Bottom Line: None of this should be a surprise. Donald Trump is an ignorant blatherskite. And this isn’t a bulletin, either: we’ve known that since he first declared in 2015, and his first term left him with two impeachments and blood on his hands for an incompetent COVID response. We elected him anyway. We deserve everything we get.

In 1616 – English statesman and explorer Sir Walter Raleigh is released from imprisonment in the Tower of London after 13 years of captivity. Following the death of Queen Elizabeth in March 1603, Raleigh was not in favor with her successor James I and was tried and convicted of treason in a plot against James. Raleigh was executed in 1618 after his death sentence was reinstated following a failed expedition to South America.

In 1984 – Butch Carter of the Indiana Pacers sets a new NBA record for most points in an overtime period in a 123-121 win over the Boston Celtics. Carter had 14 points, research into whose record he broke was inconclusive, and the record has been tied four times since. Carter finished the game with 28 points and scored all but one of Indiana’s overtime points.

In 2010-  Taio Cruz featuring Ludacris is at #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 for the only week with Break Your Heart.  It was the first of three top 40 hits for Cruz and remains his only #1 song, and was the third and most recent #1 for Ludacris. The song also went to #1 in Switzerland, Canada, and Great Britain and was Billboard’s 10th-biggest song of the year.
