The Sunday Bottom 5
A ranking of some things.
1. World Cup 2022 – Oh good gravy, FIFA president Gianni Infantino should be made an honorary emir after his “I’m a Qatari…I’m an Arab” nonsense…World Cup set to begin with 1.2 million fans stuffed into one area – and without in-game beer – which follows almost 7,000 migrant worker deaths in construction run-up to games.
2. Holidays 2022 – Christmas trees up already morally wrong, showing country both spiritually and culturally bereft…Not to mention impatient…Sunday Bottom 5 pollsters “pretty sure” holidays begin at Thanksgiving and not Halloween, though they foresee the day when Holidays begin with Easter “He Is Risen” sales.
3. Donald Trump – Temporarily back in his 3-hole home, lying sexual predator who believes moon is part Mars, that US won Revolution by securing British airports, and that Colorado borders Mexico is back for third try at White House…Some might think complete idiocy and demonstrated incompetence would disqualify Trump from consideration but no, media and supporter(s) still buying his nonsense.
4. Elon Musk – Sunday Bottom 5 pollsters couldn’t care less about either Musk or Twitter but boy, they have to admit it’s been great fun watching recent imbroglio…SB 5 pollsters have at 50/50 on whether Twitter shuts down or flourishes and could not care less either way.
5. Kansas City Royals – DO NOT EVER, EVER, EVER REPLACE KAUFFMAN STADIUM!!! …Sunday Bottom 5 pollsters “strongly suspect” they’re biased in this matter, but it is tough to argue with this point: Kauffman Stadium is as gorgeous an athletic venue as our species has produced…A pox on everyone considering replacing it.

Extra, extra, read all about it.
In 1985 – Microsoft releases Windows 1.0, its first graphic PC operating system. Reviews were lukewarm and mixed, with 1.0 faulted for, among other things, slowness and lack of compatibility with other software. The company released four versions of 1.0 before releasing 2.0 in December 1987 and despite releasing numerous other versions of Windows, Microsoft didn’t end support of 1.0 until 2001. The latest Windows version, 11.0, was released last October.
In 1997 – A.C. Green of the Dallas Mavericks establishes a new NBA record for most consecutive games played in a 120-75 loss to the Portland Trail Blazer. It was the 907th consecutive game played for Green, breaking the record established by Randy Smith, who played in 906 consecutive games from 1972-83. Green’s streak would eventually reach 1,192 games and his record still stands.
In 1982 – Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes are at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the third and final consecutive week with Up Where We Belong. The song was the first of two #1s for Warnes in the US, while it remains Cocker’s only #1 song in America. The song, from the soundtrack to the movie An Officer and a Gentleman, also went to #1 in South Africa, Canada, and Australia, peaked at #7 in Cocker’s native Great Britain and won both singers the Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group,
