The Diary of a Nobody: It’s a busy, sold out night at the hotel, as Sparrow fields a noise complaint and reports on the morning’s creamer usage at the coffee station. Today’s Diary.
The big news at the 0600 Coffee Service Check was the French vanilla creamers got virtually most of the action!!!…There are three creamers available: French vanilla, hazelnut and regular and regular is the workhorse, frankly, but not today.

In 1876 – The first telephone call is made in Boston when Alexander Graham Bell, talks to his assistant Thomas Watson, who is in another room. The two then swapped places and Bell listened while Watson read some passages from a book. Three days earlier Bell had received a patent for the telephone from the United States, his application titled Improvement in Telegraphy.
In 1920 – Joe Malone of the Quebec Bulldogs scores six goals in a 10-4 win over the Ottawa Senators. On January 21, Malone had established the NHL record with seven goals in a game, and he remains the only NHL player to score at least six goals in an NHL game twice. Malone finished the year leading the NHL in both goals (39) and points (49).
In 1962 – Bruce Channel is at #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 with Hey! Baby. The song would spend three weeks at the top and while Channel would follow this up with four more appearances in the Hot 100, Channel – pronounced Shu-NELL – remains one of the few acts whose only Top 40 hit went to #1. Channel would later tour Europe, backed at one show by a little-known group called the Beatles.
