The Sunday Bottom 5
A ranking of some things.

1. Russian/Ukrainian War Later generations may well look upon this merely another war in a human history clogged with them, but SB5 pollsters remain “pretty sure” invasion unjustified, with only negotiating point Russia’s immediate and total withdrawal.

2. Vladimir Putin War Crimes SB5 pollsters still boning up on international law, but “strongly suspect” a jurisdiction and criminal code could be rustled up for war crimes tribunal, just like we did for the Nazis…US officials can only stand by and admire how lies Putin uses to justify Ukraine invasion somewhat resemble lies used to justify US invasion of Iraq.

3. Donald Trump The 3-hole staple remains a lying sexual predator who believes that 1) the moon is part of Mars and that 2) the Revolution was won by Continental Army securing British airports, ignorance almost beyond comprehension in anyone older than five…SB5 pollsters still curious as to which of these elements continues to impress adherents and secure their support.

4. Brian Cashman – Yankees GM still whining about Astros sign stealing in 2017 ALCS, though it’s difficult to believe team could not hear trash cans being banged and put two and two together…SB5 pollsters remain “pretty sure” that Yankee pitchers throwing at Astro batters would have solved problem immediately and for good.

5. White House Fact Check If US citizens aren’t demanding the truth, why should leaders provide it???…Click here for the expected falsehoods from Donald Trump and here for the latest President Biden inaccuracies.

Writing worth reading. Usually.

The Diary of a Nobody – Sparrow buys a new lawn mower. Today’s Diary.

It was a complete impulse buy…Usually, yours truly can be counted on to consider big-ticket purchases like that but not tonite…What with not having to pay to get the old mower repaired nor paying someone to do it for me, it will pay for itself before summer’s out…It’s an electrical mower, too; it runs on a rechargeable battery and that means no more gasoline usage and that’s a win for the environment.

History’s long march.

In 1860 – The first deliveries for the Pony Express leave Sacramento and St Joseph, Missouri, starting a ten-day journey between the two cities. The Pony Express utilized riders who would ride a horse to stations between ten and 15 miles apart, where they would change horses, with riders being replaced every 75-100 miles. The Pony Express ran until October 1861, going bankrupt after the installation of the transcontinental telegraph.

In 1996 – The Vancouver Grizzles break their NBA single-season record for most consecutive losses in a 105-103 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Grizzlies had lost 23 consecutive games starting on February 16, earlier in the season had lost 19 straight games, and finished the season with a 15-67 record. The mark was tied in the 1997-98 season by the Denver Nuggets and is now 26 consecutive losses, done by both the Cleveland Cavaliers (2010-11) and the Philadelphia 76ers (2013-14).

In 1993 – Snow is at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the fourth of seven consecutive weeks with Informer. The song went to #1 in eight other countries including Norway, Zimbabwe, and Finland, peaked at #2 in Great Britain, at #10 on Billboard’s soul chart, and was Billboard’s tenth-biggest song of the year. The song is based on Snow being charged with two counts of attempted murder, charges that were eventually lowered and that he was later acquitted of. It was the first of three Top 40 hits for Snow and remains his only #1 song.
