The Sunday Bottom 5
A ranking of some things.

1. COVID Yeah, well, you know, five years from now those of us who got vaccine could sprout third eyes or drop dead, but that hasn’t happened with any other vaccine SB 5 pollsters have taken so they’re “pretty sure” it won’t happen here…So go, get vaccinated people, you continue to hold up progress.

2. COVID Vaccine Mandate SB5 pollsters “pretty bummed” over 5th Circuit Court of Appeals staying federal vaccine mandate because now they can’t use the stat that of the 14 states that announced plans to sue over it, nine (9) states were in Top 20 of COVID deaths per one (1) million residents, including four out of Top 5 and 60% of Top 10.

3. Donald Trump – The 3-hole staple…The former president remains a lying sexual predator who believes 1) the moon is part of Mars; 2) that the Revolution was won by the securing of British airports and 3) – and SB5 pollsters had forgotten this one – that Colorado borders Mexico…A question for Trump supporters: which one of these elements continues to earn your support???…Liar???…Sexual predator???…Dolt???

4. Brian Schnitker Atlanta Braves manager proves Bible correct, that perseverance does finish its work (James 1:4) by winning World Series after 45 years with organization…His coach Ron Washington patiently waited 50 years for his first title, too.

5. President Biden Fact Check Though hardly possessing the falsehood and lying skills of Donald Trump – not even a four (4)-year-old in trouble possesses those – President Biden still rustling up a modest amount of street cred…Click here for the latest, from the AP.

On This Date
The long march to today.

In 1907 – Jesus Garcia, a railroad brakeman, saves the town of Nacozari, Sonora in northern Mexico by driving a train on fire and containing dynamite about 3.5 miles out of town. Garcia was enjoying a siesta when he noticed the fire and got the train moving, in reverse and at full speed. Garcia, 25, died in the explosion and November 7 is celebrated by railroaders in some parts of Mexico as Railroader’s Day.

In 1943 – The New York Giants and the Detroit Lions tie the NFL record for fewest points in a game in a 0-0 tie. The feat tied the record done several times and the game was played on a rainy day and on a muddy field at Briggs Stadium – later Tiger Stadium – in Detroit. The teams combined for 214 total yards and nine first downs and this remains the last scoreless tie in NFL history.

In 1964 – The Supremes are at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the second of four consecutive weeks with Baby Love. The song also went to #1 in three other countries including Great Britain and also went to #1 on soul charts published by Cashbox and Record World magazines, Billboard not publishing a soul chart for most of 1964. It was the second #1 song for the Supremes, who would finish with twelve #1 songs, a Hot 100 record for an American group that still stands.
